EFT ACH debit allows you to pay your UI Taxes by instructing the State to electronically debit your bank account. There is no cost to the taxpayer for this type of payment transaction. This option is recommended because of the simplicity and cost savings to the taxpayer.
Once you complete the ACH debit registration process, you can immediately begin to make payments electronically.
There are two separate EFT ACH Debit payment systems you can use to make your UI Payment. Registration on one system does not automatically register you on the other system. If you want the option to use both systems (not required) you must register for both.
The two EFT debit payment systems are described in the points that follow.
You can file your report prior to the payment due date and elect to have your payment deducted from your bank account on the tax due date. This eliminates the need of waiting to the last minute to file your report.
Using QTWRS to file your report and make payment electronically also eliminates the need to mail in a paper copy of the UI Report along with a check and the worry that your report and payment is received timely.
If you are already registered to use the DOR EFT payment system you can log into the DOR Internet Payment Site or call the toll free telephone number (1-888-338-9472) to pay your unemployment tax immediately.
The UI tax type code is 13000. If you have not registered for tax type code 13000 you can do that once you are logged into the system.
If you are not registered to use the DOR EFT payment system and need to request EFT registration materials from DOR you have the following options:
You will receive personalized registration materials and complete instructions upon making your registration request. Follow the instructions to complete the registration form. After completing the registration, mail the signed registration document to the DOR.
If you have further questions please call UI at (608) 266-5793.
