UI Week 26 - June 21, 2009 through June 27, 2009

Regular Initial Claims

Initial Claims for unemployment insurance decreased by 1,188 to a total of 20,377 for the week ending June 27 (week 26).  Last week Initial Claims totaled 21,565.  One year ago Initial Claims amounted to 10,636.

Regular Continued Claims

Continued Claims for unemployment insurance decreased by 399 to a total of 158,273 for the week ending June 27 (week 26).  Last week Continued Claims totaled 158,672.  One year ago Continued Claims amounted to 69,167.

*Due to the requirements of the extended benefit programs currently in effect, the data contained in this report represent preliminary values for initial and continued claims.
