Wisconsin New Hire Reporting
Options for Multistate Employers

Employers with employees in more than one state may choose from two reporting options.

• Report newly hired employees to the states in which they are working, following the requirements established by each state.
• Report all newly hired employees to one state, regardless where the employees work. You must have at least one employee working in the state you choose. Reports must be filed in an electronic format and contain only the information required by the state you choose.

Employers choosing Wisconsin may use our Internet reporting site for quick, easy electronic reporting.

Multistate employers who report to one state must notify the Secretary of Health and Human Services, in writing, which state has been selected for New Hire reporting.

Employers may send notification on-line or print an optional Employer Notification form in PDF format

Written notification should include a minimum of the name and address. The following optional information would be helpful:

• Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN)
• Employer phone number
• States in which your company hires employees
• Corporate point of contact for clarification of data
