Mr. LaRocque calls the meeting to order at 9:47 a.m.
Mr. Bergan indicates that the following two weeks are the only weeks left in the October floor period. There is also one week in December. There is some urgency to acting to get the bill done by the end of the year. We are in fairly good shape in drafting on the bill, but we cannot finalize it until the agreements are finalized.
Mr. LaRocque hands out a sheet of updated Active DWD Law Change Proposals. D07-01, D07-05, D07-07, D07-08B, and D07-10 have been approved. The others await further action.
Question (Gustafson): What does the column “priority” mean?
Ms. Schwalbe indicates that the column is generally used if a proposal is high priority. This year the department determined that all of the proposals are priority items.
Motion (Platz), seconded (Lump), to approve the Minutes of the October 2, 2007, meeting with the correction noted by Gustafson that “in tact” on page 5 should be one word. Minutes are approved unanimously.
No questions or comments on the treasurer’s financial statements.
Motion (Neuenfeldt), seconded (Gustafson), is passed unanimously to go into closed session to discuss all proposals by Labor, Management and the Department for changes to the unemployment insurance statute and rules pursuant to section 19.85(1)(ee) of the Wisconsin Statutes.
