Self-Employment
Income from self-employment is not considered wages and is not deducted from unemployment benefits. However, you must still meet the eligibility requirements of being able, available and actively looking for work and willing to accept suitable work.
If it is determined your self-employment prevents you from accepting suitable work, you may be disqualified due to being unavailable for work.
Contact a claims specialist for more information.
Although you do not report earnings from self-employment on the weekly claim certification, you are required to answer "yes" to being self-employed if you are self-employed or operating your own business.
