Apply by Telephone
COMING SOON: In 2017, the Division of Unemployment Insurance will retire the automated telephone filing system and direct workers to file online. Most claims are already filed online because it is fast, easy, and mobile-friendly. Learn more about the benefits of using online services. If you need assistance or have barriers to using online services, claims specialists are available by phone.
Day to Call
IMPORTANT: To help our customers avoid long telephone wait times, we have recently assigned days for callers to receive priority service based on social security number (SSN):
|Monday||Last digit of SSN is 0-2|
|Tuesday||Last digit of SSN is 3-6|
|Wednesday||Last digit of SSN is 7-9|
|Thursday & Friday||All SSNs (Open to all callers which may result in longer wait times)|
- You will receive priority service if you call on your assigned day during business hours.
- Or, you can apply online any day of the week.
Your claim will start in the week that you placed your first call. If you call and the system tells you to call back on your assigned day or Thursday/Friday, the system will still record your claim as having been started. You can complete your claim online or if instructed, call back (using the same telephone number) to complete your application.

|Thursday – Friday||6:00 AM – 7:00 PM|
