Department of Workforce Development (DWD) created the JobCenterOfWisconsin.com website to meet the 21st Century needs of job seekers and business. Employers have found this improved site convenient and effective in recruiting candidates with the skills and experience needed to do the job.
Employers can receive candidate information via email, including cover letters, resumes, or applications. Among its other benefits:
JobCenterOfWisconsin.com is your human resource ally. The available labor pool has skill sets and work experience in unprecedented numbers. Take advantage. Hire. Right. Now.
Businesses are required by law to report every new employee within 20 days of hire. Even rehired or returning employees must be reported (if there is a 90 day break in work).
There are several available methods for reporting your new hires. You may choose the method of reporting that best suits your business. For more information about your options and the program, see http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/uinh/.
Those employers who elected to defer some of their first quarter 2009 tax are reminded that the second installment is due with your second quarter 2009 report and payment. Employers who have elected deferral are required to file their second quarter tax and wage reports electronically.
Also, your 2010 tax rate is based on your reserve fund balance as of June 30, 2009 (including all payments made through July 31, 2009).
At the time you are ready to file your second quarter report, you should determine whether your 2010 tax rate will be adversely affected if you choose not to pay your first quarter liability in full by July 31, 2009.
If you need assistance in determining your 2010 tax rate, please call our employer service line at 608-261-6700.

We need your assistance to help us create the labor market information you need to make informed decisions about your work world. We’ve contacted eligible employers that conduct business operations at more than one location (worksite) in order to collect employment and wage information by multiple worksites in April. We’ve had a follow-up mailing in early May.
It’s not too late to send in your multiple worksite report! Collection of employment and payroll information by location allows the Department of Workforce Development to prepare accurate labor market information. The information collected on this report is vital to maintaining a database that accurately reflects the condition of the Wisconsin economy.
This information is widely used by government, private industry and individuals when analyzing a broad range of economic situations. Whether it is legislative decisions allocating millions of tax dollars or an individual’s desire to pursue a career, Wisconsinites rely on labor market information to help them select an appropriate course. The information collected on this report is vital to maintaining a database that accurately reflects the condition of the Wisconsin economy. That helps you make decisions about where to site your expansion, and what wages you need to pay to in order to attract and retain qualified employees.
Questions can be directed to Deb Holt (608-266-5321). Check out our interactive website for labor market information! http://worknet.wisconsin.gov/worknet/
