The "Employer Engagement in Industry Partnerships" workshop drew over 70 people on December 8. The workshop focused on strategies for enlisting and sustaining greater employer participation in sector-based collaborations. During the event, DWD Secretary Roberta Gassman, Deputy Secretary JoAnna Richard, and DET Division Administrator Ron Danowski were recognized as “Industry Partnership Champions” for their work building the infrastructure and securing funding to support sector strategies throughout Wisconsin. Guest speaker Kirk Willard, Plant Manager of Ocean Spray in Wisconsin Rapids, provided a first-hand testimonial of the employer experience in workforce development and training through the Manufacturing Peer Council that he is part of in South Wood County.
