  • The Marathon County LTC Workforce Alliance provides:
  • Low cost Community-wide training opportunity for LTC supervisors and direct care staff
  • Quarterly Alliance Newsletter
  • Co-chairs the annual recognition luncheon for direct care workers sponsored by the Assisted Living Association of North Central Wisconsin
  • Recruitment through a "Make A Difference" image campaign.  Hot-line provides for work seekers to get information on job opportunity and a directory of LTC providers
  • Community wide recognition and public relations of the LTC industry
  • Mentorship training for direct care workers
  • Monthly recognition events for direct care workers

The North Central WI Workforce Development Board Healthcare Industry Cluster group serves the North Central Wisconsin are which includes:
Adams, Forest, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Oneida, Portage, Vilas, Wood counties.

Mission/Purpose

The purpose of this group is to come together and collectively work on developing the workforce in the healthcare industry. (We are currently working on a formal mission)

Goals

The North Central WI Workforce Development Board Healthcare Industry Cluster goals are focused on the following issues: marketing/Promoting the NAHEC Health web site, activating a nine county career speaking bureau, opening a Health Career Center for people to come to for career advise & exploration, sponsoring Health Career conference, workshop or seminars, focusing on a regional assessment matching tool for health occupations, legislative activism, writing regional grants, and identifying and seek funding for expansion for school programs.

Schedule of Meetings

The Healthcare Industry Cluster plans to meet quarterly. The dates for 2006 are: April 28, July 28 and October 20.

Highlights

Currently the North Central WI Workforce Development Board has conducted a needs assessment for the Healthcare Industry Cluster.
