Private Employment Agents License

Employment agents are persons who furnish job seekers information enabling them to secure employment, or who furnish employers information enabling them to secure laborers or help; or who keep a register of persons seeking employment. A single employer who procures help only for himself is not an employment agent, nor is a temporary help service which finds temporary or part time employment for persons. An agent who only has job placements where the employer pays all fees, shall pay a $5.00 registration fee and register with the Department of Workforce Development by July 1 of each year.

An agent who does charge the job seeker a fee for finding employment must hold a license as a private employment agent.
