WIA and WIOA Local Plans

The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) requires each Workforce Development Area (WDA) to have a state-approved local plan. The Division of Employment and Training has approved the plans that can be accessed below. These plans are effective for program years 2013-2015. Modifications can be made at any time, and, these documents will be updated accordingly.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) has a similar local plan requirement. WIA local plans remain in effect during the transition year to WIOA. The local plans are being developed by Wisconsin's local Workforce Development Boards (WDBs) using the below state-issued guidelines. If you have a question about the local plan development in your area, please contact the local WDB. WIOA local plans will be effective, upon state approval, for Program Year 2016 (07/01/16-06/30/17).
