Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Roberta Gassman will deliver the keynote address at the inaugural CEO Forum of the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at 8 a.m. Secretary Gassman will highlight Governor Jim Doyle’s Grow Wisconsin 2005 Agenda, the success of earlier Grow Wisconsin items and the importance of investing in people, Wisconsin’s workforce, to continue Wisconsin’s economic momentum.
As a member of Governor Jim Doyle’s cabinet, Secretary Gassman leads the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and oversees 1,900 employees charged with strengthening Wisconsin’s workforce. With a budget of over $2 billion, DWD provides training and employment assistance to job seekers, works with employers to fill jobs, enforces worker’s rights, and administers Unemployment Insurance, Apprenticeship, and Worker’s Compensation.
