Agency accepting applications for Preferred Provider Registry for Milwaukee
Registry will list providers of services to the County’s W-2 participants

Milwaukee - Department of Workforce Development (DWD) Secretary Roberta Gassman announced in June that the department would be establishing a “Preferred Provider Registry” in Milwaukee. DWD is inviting all service providers who are interested in being included on the Registry to complete an application and has scheduled two public information sessions to be held on August 11 and August 12.

The Preferred Provider Registry is a listing of eligible service providers that will be used by Milwaukee W-2 agencies as part of a broader Milwaukee Wisconsin Works (W-2) and related human service delivery system strategy. The strategy will develop a continuum of services that supports W-2 participant efforts to overcome barriers to employment, create more diversity among the providers in Milwaukee that serve W-2 participants, maximize efficient use of W-2 resources through the utilization of existing publicly funded services, and build on the already existing Milwaukee County service delivery infrastructure where appropriate.

Information sessions:
Date: Thursday, August 11, 2005, from 1:00 – 2:30.
Where: Don and Sallie Davis Branch (formerly Irving J. Seher)
2404 West Rogers Street
Milwaukee

Date: Friday, August 12, 2005, from 10:00 – 11:30
Where: Roger and Leona Fitzsimonds Branch of the Milwaukee Boys and Girls Club
3400 West North Avenue
Milwaukee

The Registry will include Milwaukee service providers selected to provide the following services:

Completed applications for the initial Preferred Provider Registry must be received by the Department of Workforce Development, 201 East Washington Avenue, Room A200, Madison, WI 53707-7972 no later than 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, 2005.
