Secretary Gassman to Address Preserving Early Childhood Conference Gassman to discuss “Quality Care for Quality Kids” Budget Initiative

Department of Workforce Development Secretary Roberta Gassman will provide details about Governor Jim Doyle’s budget initiative “Quality Care for Quality Kids” which provides for a star rating system for Wisconsin’s child care providers.

Secretary Gassman will speak at the “Preserving Early Child: Communities Joining Force”s Conference at the Hotel Mead and Conference Center on Tuesday, March 15 at 3:50 PM. Secretary Gassman will also introduce Dennis Winters, Vice President and Director of Research at NorthStar Economics of Madison. Mr. Winters’ will speak on the benefits of expanding 4 year old kindergarten programs in Wisconsin.
