Madison -- Governor Jim Doyle announced today that the Department of Workforce Development (DWD) will distribute $369,902 in National Emergency Grant (NEG) funding to assist workers from Celestica in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin; and, Rockwell Automation and American Girl, Inc., both of Eau Claire Wisconsin. The funding will assist 225 former workers of these three facilities to find new jobs.
"Despite some recent positive economic news, some Wisconsin workers are still facing struggles getting back into the workforce, especially in the Chippewa Valley area," Governor Jim Doyle said. "We will provide these emergency funds and the job-related resources these former workers need to get them back into jobs so they can support their families.”
The project will be operated locally through the local job centers in the Chippewa Valley area. To find the nearest job center, visit the Wisconsin Job Center Directory at http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/dws/directory/.
