OSHKOSH - Governor Jim Doyle announced today the availability of additional reemployment services for workers who lost jobs or suffered reduced work hours as a result of increased imports. Employees from Oshkosh B'Gosh and SNC Manufacturing Company, Inc. in Oshkosh, Wisconsin may be eligible for these services.
"I am pleased that we are able to offer additional assistance to these workers. Wisconsin's hard working and highly motivated workers have faced some tough economic times and this additional funding will allow us to get these folks back on their feet and back into the workforce," said Governor Doyle. "These individuals and their families need and deserve this assistance."
The services, administered by the Department of Workforce Development and local Workforce Development Boards, are available through local Job Centers. The services are funded through the Trade Adjustment Assistance program and include a comprehensive array of retraining and reemployment services tailored to meet the needs of the individual workers. Major activities and services, for which these workers may qualify, are:
DWD Secretary Roberta Gassman said, "This federal funding will increase our capacity to serve all workers in the area, as we reconnect unemployed workers to employment as quickly as possible."
