Media Advisory: Department of Workforce Development to hold Public Hearings

GREEN BAY – The Department of Workforce Development is holding 5 public hearings throughout the state this week to obtain citizen input on the proposed minimum wage increase. Hearings will be held in Janesville, Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Wausau and Green Bay.

Earlier this year, a minimum wage advisory council recommended increases in the state's minimum wages from $5.15 per hour to $5.70 per hour after October 1, 2004 and to $6.50 per hour after October 1, 2005.

The public is invited to attend, to speak or to submit written comments on the proposed increases.
