The Department of Workforce Development has the primary responsibility for monitoring apprenticeship programs in Wisconsin. For more than 90 years, Wisconsin’s Apprenticeship system has been an effective training strategy for employers, workers and job seekers. It’s basic foundation is a partnership between industry, education and government. Industry funded and industry driven, the system provides an effective balance between "earning by doing" and theoretical instruction in an effort to develop workers with marketable skills.
