Department Unveils New Workplace
Safety Initiative
New Web
site will help employers create safer workplace
MADISON - Department of
Workforce Development Secretary Jennifer Reinert will demonstrate a new
Web site designed to provide another resource for employers to create a
safer work environment on Thursday, June 27, 2002. A new Safety
Partnership composed of state agencies, labor and employer associations,
and insurance carrier representation will be on hand for this event. The
new Wisconsin Workplace Safety
Institute (www.wiwsi.com) is
being unveiled as part of recognizing national workplace safety week.
The new web site
highlights workplace injury statistics by industry category (provided by
Worker’s Compensation Division, DWD) to help employers pinpoint safety
problem areas. Wisconsin Corporate Safety Award winners have agreed to act
as safety resource contacts for web site users.
