News Advisory: WISCONSIN TO HONOR OLDER WORKERS

WHO: Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Jennifer Reinert;
Mike Bonertz, Executive Director, ADVOCAP, Inc.;
Mike Krauss, Wisconsin’s OWN (Older Worker Network);
Pat Delmenhorst, Director of Employment Services, Interfaith;
Donna McDowell, Bureau on Aging and Long Term Care, Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services.
WHAT: Wisconsin Older Workers Network Awards
WHERE: ADVOCAP, Inc., 19 W First Street, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
WHEN: Friday, November 30, 2001, 2:00 p.m.
WHY: To recognize and honor Wisconsin’s older workers, who play a crucial role in Wisconsin’s labor market. Wisconsin’s already tight labor market is expected to be flat and even shrink over the next 10 to 15 years as baby boomers retire and fewer young people enter the labor force to replace them. Many older workers are willing and able to remain in the labor force even after they retire. Wisconsin welcomes and encourages its older workers to remain a part of the labor force not only for demographic reasons, but because their experience and strong work ethic make them a valuable resource to Wisconsin’s future.

If you have any questions, please contact Michael Krauss, Older Worker Program Coordinator, AgeAdvantAge, Inc, at (609) 575-3764.
