Media Advisory:
W-2 "leavers" study release

Secretary Linda Stewart will have news conferences Wednesday (Jan. 13) in Milwaukee and Madison to release the preliminary study of those who left either AFDC or W-2 in January-March of last year.

This research project has been referred to informally as the "leavers study."

The Milwaukee news conference will be held as follows:

10:30 a.m., Job Center Northwest
6550 N. 76th St.

The news release and the leavers study also will be distributed to the Capitol press at about the same time.

Both documents also will be posted on the Department’s Web site between 10:30 a.m. and 12 Noon. To access, go to <http://www.dwd.state.wi.us>and select "news releases."

The Madison news conference will be held as follows:

3 p.m., Secretary’s Conference Room (Rm. 400X)
GEF 1 State Office Building
201 E. Washington Ave.

Metered parking is available in the city lot in the block immediately east of the building.

Also participating in both news conferences will be Jean Rogers, Economic Support Division Administrator, and Jan Van Vleck, Special Assistant to the Secretary’s Office who supervised the study.
