The Department will hold news conferences in Madison and Milwaukee Monday, Dec. 21, to announce details of the new statewide child support payment collection and distribution system which begins Jan. 4.
It also will conduct a media tour of the Milwaukee processing center immediately following the news conference for the first 20 media representatives who register in advance.
Photographing of operations is permitted, and tour guides will be available to answer your questions.
Heres the Dec. 21 schedule:
9:30-10:15 a.m., Madison news conference, Workforce Development (DWD) Secretarys Office, Room 400X GEF 1, 201 E. Washington Ave.

(Directions: Take S. Howell Ave. {Wisconsin 38} to W. Edgerton Ave. {just north of the main entrance to the airport}. Turn west on W. Edgerton and go to S. 2nd St. Turn north {right} on S. 2nd and go to W. Vogel. Turn west onto W. Vogel. 200 W. Vogel is the Goodwill building and is on the corner to the right.)
2:15-2:30 p.m., travel as group in own vehicles to the Processing Center for those who registered in advance, or if space otherwise is available.
2:30-3:15 p.m., tour of the Processing Center.

Advance registration is recommended for the visit to the Processing Center, for space reasons. If the number of requests exceed 20 people, we will attempt to make alternative arrangements, if at all possible. Reporters may join the tour without registering in advance if space permits.
Those who take the tour will depart as a group from the Milwaukee news conference location at 200 W. Vogel Ave. since the Processing Center location is not being publicized. (While it will be disclosed at that media briefing, we ask that the location not be publicized by reporters, as well.)
To register for the tour, send the names and media affiliation of up to two people per organization to the DWD News Office by e-mail to
<news@dwd.state.wi.us>, fax to 608/266-1784, or 608/266-1756 (for voice calls). We also will post any needed updates to this media advisory at our Web site and if and when the tour is filled. You may check that anytime by going to
