Grants will help people with disabilities to join workforce
Gov. Tommy G. Thompson today announced the awarding of grants totalling $447,400 for
community based vocational services in 10 Wisconsin counties.
"These grants will provide specialized vocational services for up to 100 individuals with mental illness
to help them join the workforce as needed, productive members of their communities," Gov.
Thompson said.
These new contracts will begin August 1, 1996, for one year with the option of renewal for two
additional years.
The grants were made through the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation in the Department of
Workforce Development and the Division of Supportive Living in the Department of Health and
Family Services.
