Direct Deposit of Child Support Payments

DWD encourages all parents receiving child support and alimony payments to sign up to receive their payments through direct deposit.

This recently introduced service offers parents convenience and added security because paper checks can be lost or stolen.

In addition, if more parents sign up for direct deposit of their support payments into their savings or checking accounts, the state could save up to $2.2 million each year.

Paper checks are costly to print and mail. Each check costs approximately $0.46 to print and mail compared to the cost of direct deposit at $0.06 per check.

Parents can obtain a direct deposit application at http://dwd.wisconsin.gov/bcs/ddbrochure.pdf, from their county child support agency, or by contacting the Wisconsin Support Collection Trust Fund, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at:
