The Bureau of Workforce Training (BWT) is responsible for policy guidance for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) programs, development of Wisconsin Job Centers, production of Labor Market Information, and management of other employment and training programs and resources.
BWT spearheads the development of the Wisconsin WIA State Plan and vetting of local plans on behalf of the Wisconsin Governor's office to assure the integration of on-stop employment and training service delivery. It supports the mission of the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) as the principal fact-finding agency in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. And, it responds to the needs of employers and job seekers in the development of products to assure an efficient public labor exchange.
The Director's Office oversees three sections.
