Food Share Employment and Training for Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD's) Workfare

(FSET ABAWD Workfare)

Report actual costs related to the development, administration and/or contracting of "offered" or "filled" work slots for ABAWD participants.

A slot is considered "offered" when a workforce opportunity is made available to an ABAWD participant, i.e. the ABAWD participant must be informed of the location, the date and the time she/he is required to report. This data must be entered into the Department's automated delivery system (CARES or its replacement).

Examples of allowable expenses are the following:

Salary, fringe benefits, supplies, utilities, travel, training, space/rent, data processing costs for the staff and the first line supervision related to providing this service to the food share participants.

Costs such as enrollment, orientation, assessment, counseling, job readiness, and motivation must be reported on the code 2231. Transportation and/or work related expenses must be reported on code 2232.
