Reporting Instructions: CORe Code 2209

W-2 Education

Report W-2 education costs for W-2 eligible participants.

Costs related to coordinating or providing services such as:

Coordinating or providing the following:

  1. A course of study meeting the standards established under 115.29(4), Stats., for the granting of a declaration of equivalency of high school graduation.
  2. English-as-a-Second Language.
  3. Adult basic education courses.

Allowable costs include, but are not limited to, the salary, fringe, travel, training, supplies, and occupancy for staff and first line supervision, and related supportive services costs, except transportation.

CARES activity codes associated with these services include: Adult Basic Education (BE), English-as-a-Second-Language (EL), General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Diploma (HE), Literacy Skills (LS), and Regular School (RS).

Costs associated with identifying the applicant's current educational levels and determining the applicant's education and training needs must be reported under CORe code 2213, W-2 Formal Assessment, because they are activities associated with conducting and interpreting formal assessments.

Transportation related costs are to be reported on CORe Code 2215 W-2 Transportation.
