Child Care Benefits

This line code would be used only in exceptional circumstances where the county would have to issue a check directly to a client. Use only if unable to process through CARES.

Reimbursement for the county when child care assistance benefits have been paid by the county directly to the child care provider on behalf of an eligible Wisconsin Shares case. Examples include:

• When a child care provider submits their attendance forms in a timely manner and there are no agency concerns regarding the content of the form and the agency misses the Friday deadline for provider payment batches at the state on Saturday.
• When a fair hearing has resulted in back payments owed to a child care provider and the payments are unable to be processed through CARES.

Counties:

Report only Wisconsin Shares child care assistance costs paid directly to a child care provider. All other costs are prohibited from this line code. Use only if the county is unable to process the payment through CARES.

Tribes:

Line code 0854 is not available to tribes.
