Reporting Instructions: DCF CORe Code 0846

Child Care Fraud - Provider

Report direct costs for operation of child care provider fraud prevention and investigation services. Examples include but are not limited to:

• Program monitoring;
• Fraud prevention efforts;
• Internal provider investigation services;
• Provider surveillance;
• Contracted provider investigation services;
• Provider overpayment services related to fraud and/or error.

Counties:

Report fraud judicial hearing preparation and attendance to 0851/8851 Child Care Program Operations. Report all other costs related to monitoring, investigating, prevention, internal provider investigation, surveillance, contracted fraud services and overpayments related to provider fraud on 0846/Provider Fraud AFTER 0840/Child Care Provider Fraud Prevention and Investigation has been fully expended. If contract code 0840 has not been fully expended, do not use 0846/8846.

Tribes:

Report fraud judicial hearing preparation and attendance to 0851 Child Care Program Operations. Report all other costs related to monitoring, investigating, prevention, internal provider investigation, surveillance, contracted fraud services and overpayments related to provider fraud on 0850 Child Care Admin. Line code 0846 is not available to tribes.
