Emergency Assistance (EA) Eligibility Reporting

Report all Emergency Assistance eligibility determination costs, in accordance with the Department’s policies and procedures.

Eligibility determination includes:

1. Time limit - an Emergency Assistance (EA) payment has not been made to the caretaker relative during the past twelve months;
2. A dependent child resides in the home;
3. There is an eligible emergency; and
4. Available income and assets do not meet the total needs. 

The following are examples of activities that are considered EA case management and are to be reported  under the code for EA Case Management/Other Services:

• Coordination with other local, state and/or federal programs and resources;
• Contact with vendors, landlords, banks or local government

The purpose of these activities is to ensure that the eviction or foreclosure action does not proceed, that housing is secured, and/or that the emergency is resolved within the program policies and procedures:
